A GENEROUS GIFT TO CAPT. .SMITH
At a dinner given to the trans pacific aviators by the proprietors of the Melbourne "Herald," Captain Kingston! Smith, according to a private cablegram from Melbourne, said that the flight could not have taken plaice without help in the early stages of their career frftni the Vacuum Oil Company Pty., Limited, and he intonated that a very touching incident occurred that afternoon, when the Vacuum Oil Co., Ptv., Ltd., gave them a donation of £4500.
