BLAZE IN DAMASCUS
Best Part Of Ancient City Destroyed. DYNAMITE TO CHECK FIBE. ("Times" Cables.) (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, June 22. The "Times" Damascus correspondent states that the best part of the city, including hotels, Wakf's Buildings, with a valuable museum, 300 houses and 70 shops has been destroyed by fire. The damage is estimated at £500,000. French soldiers employed dynamite to arrest the outbreak and are taking measures against looting.
