LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTIONS.

SECOND ROUND TO START.

NEWTON AND RICHMOND IN

PRINCIPAL GAME.

An attractive programme has been arranged for the benefit of follower? of the popular League code for to-morrow, when the second round of the Thistle Cup competition commences. Newton last season's champions, who, in their last game delighted their supporters byshowing a return to form, and Richmond, who have been playing consistently and hold a prominent position on the championship ladder, will provide the principal game at Carlaw Park. The issue should be in doubt till the end, as both teams have solid packs and fastmoving scoring machines. Given a fine day the match should prove one of the most exciting to date. On No. 2 Ground Ponsonby are scheduled to meet Ellerslie, and should have no difficulty in avenging their defeat at the hands of the suburban team when their debut in the senior A division. The margin of difference between the teams in the end, however, should not be very great, as the tricolours are improving with each succeeding Saturday.

City will journey across the water to try conclusions with Devonport, but indications are that the Shore team will maintain its undefeated record. Senior matches at Carlaw Park will start at 2.45 o'clock, and the lower grade competitions will be continued. Appended arc the teams chosen in the various grades:— PONSONBY.
