REVOLVER SHOOTING.

I read with interest an article in your paper dealing with the Manchurian war lord, Chang Tso-lin. "A.Jj." gives him credit for being a perfectly marvellous shot and cites an instance where he shot twenty-two pigeons out of twenty-three shots with a Mauser automatic pistol, the birds being on the wing. Surely "A.L." cannot expect your readers to believe that even a Chinese wizard is capable of this? New Zealanders are fairly adept in the use of firearms, and yet one has only to follow the gun clubs' contests to realise that our champion shots are not infallible with a shotgun. Those who know a little of the difficulties of pistol shooting realise how far removed the two types of sport are and whether he is a wizard or not one finds the performance of the Chinese general impossible to believe. It is on a par with the shooting credited to the gunmen of the "wild and woolly West," which all practical shots know is pure fiction. AUTOMATIC.
