PACIFIC INSURANCE ABSORBED.

Negotiation* have been conducted by the Atlas Assurance Company, Ltd., with the Pacific Insurance Company, Ltd., of Suva, Fiji, for the acquisition of its business. An agreement was signed recently in Melbourne, and the manager for Australia and New Zealand of the Atlas Company (Mr. D. N. Trenery) announced that by that agreement the directors of the Pacific Insurance Company, Ltd., agreed to sell the issued shares of the company as paid up to 4/ each for 6/ a share.

The business of the Pacfic Insurance Company will be kept distinct from that of the Atlas Company, although if shareholders accept the offer the organisation will become a subsidiary of the Atlas Company, which is one of the oldest of the great group of British insurance organisations.
