In an exciting finish Burnaby deefated Some Quality by a head. Trlvalve was two lengths and a-half away In third place. Time, 3.7). Trlvalve displayed lameness after the race. Altimeter took command at an early stage of the contest and he romped home an easy winner four lengths in front of Benoni, who beat Finsbury by half a length, with Some Quality in fourth place.
