LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
THE LEADERS MEET.
RICHMOND AND DEVONPORT.
CARLAW PARK ATTRACTIONS Very wide interest is being taken in the match between Devonport and Richmond, which will be the star game at Carlaw Park to-morrow afternoon, as neither team has been defeated this season, both having an unbroken sequence of wins. Both teams will be at full strength, and as they play the bright, open game an exceptional exposition of the code is expected. Devonport should have an advantage in weight, but on the other hand Richmond should be able to'successfully counter any disadvantage in that respect by the exceptional speed of their forwards, supported by the traditional lively Richmond back play. On the No. 2 ground, Ponsonby will meet Marist, a clash between two evenlybalanced teams who have shown improving form of late. Newton will make a suburban tour to meet tllerslie on the home ground there, a match which offers a strong appeal to the suburban supporters of the code. Teams:— PONSONBY UNITED.
