STRAY DOGS KILLING SHEEP
FARMERS LOOKING FOR OWNERS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correepoodeirt.) WANGANXJI, Wednesday. Wandering dogs have killed about forty sheep recently in the vicinity of the Castlecliff golf links, and in consequence the farmers last week rounded up all the dogs they could find. Three dogs were shot one afternoon, and the others were* driven over the cliffs on to the beach, where a further seven were killed. Most of the dogs had collars, while others, ranging from pet Pomeranians to fox terriers and greyhounds, were without them, but the sheepowners hope in the near future to be able to trace a few of the owners.
