SERIOUS CHARGE MADE.

DARGAVILLE, Monday,
At the Police Court to-day, Jako ahandonich, a Dalmatian storekeeper, of Aratapu, was charged with rape and attempted rape on a married woman of the settlement. He pleaded not <ruiltv and reserved life defence, and h© was committed for trial.
