RECORD JUMP.
9000 FEET BY PARACHUTE. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 9.30 a.m.) SAX ANTONIO (Texas), April 23. The highest recorded emergency parachute jump was made when Cadets Henderson and Swisher collided at an altitude of 9000 feet. Henderson was killed but Swisher descended safely.

CHICAGO ASSASSINATION.
(Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 0.30 a.m.) CHICAGO, April 23. As a probable result of the recent election in which State Attorney Crowe was defeated, r.ir. ~en Newmark, former chief investigator for Mr. Crowe, was murdered by unknown assassins. They fired a charge from a sawn-off shot-gun through his bedroom window as he was preparing to retire.
