A 3 MILLION U.S. CARS . RAN 150 BILLION MILES IN 1937.
Last year more than 23,000,000 motor vehicles were responsible for nearly 150,000,000,000 vehicle miles of travel in the United States.
Scientific investigations show that road improvements have resulted in very great reductions in the costs of operating motor trucks and automobiles. * v
The Federal Bureau of Public Roads is confident that the saving in'fuel and oil and in' wear and tear on tyres and vehicle* -is much more than the annual expenditure for improved roads.
