WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.
COLE—VAIL;
A wedding of interest took place at St. Patrick's Cathedral at half-past nine yesterday morning, when" Miss Dulcie Vail, second daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. F. Vail, of Edendale, became the wife of Mr. Herbert Cole, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Cole, of Great North Road, Grey Lynn. The Very Rev. H. Holbrook officiated. Wearing a frock of dainty pale pink georgette, the bride made an attractive picture as she came up the aisle on the arm of her brother, Mr. Ralph Vail, followed by a train of pretty bridesmaids. Her frock was simply made with slightly draped bodice, and sprays of silver French "flowers forming the trimming. The beautiful pale pink veil of tulle was caught to the head by a coronet of orange blossoms, and fell softly over the shoulders, forming a long train. A shower bouquet of deli-1 cately shaded roses and maidenhair fern j was carried. Following in the wake of the bride and holding her train,, was little Joyce Kirkman,' who wore a frock of apricot taffeta with frilled skirt edged with mauve. A little tulle eap, Russian fashion, was worn. Then came two bridesmaids, Misses "Joy Hancock and Irma Burns, wearing frocks of lettuce green georgette with ruched trimming at the hem. They wore tulle caps and carried bouquets in autumn tints. Misses Hazel and Eileen Vail followed, wearing pretty frocks of turquoise blue georgette with deep scallops of silver lace at hem. Silver bandeaux and tulle caps formed their headgear, and they carried beautiful shower bouquets in tones of apricot. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. Charles Cole as best man, and Mr. Albert Cole as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at Rendell's tearoom, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Mrs Vail received ber guest.* wearing a frock of black charmeuse with tiered skirt of; accordion pleats relieved with beige
georgette and touches of cornflour blue. Her hat was of black velvet. Mrs. Cole, mother erf the bridegroom, wore a navy blue frock with gold embroideries and navy felt hat to match.
