DRUNK IN MOTOR LORRY.
MAN SENT TO PRISON.
"WANTED" ON ANOTHER CHARGE,

HAWERA, this day.
The speed and the erratic course of a motor lorry which dashed through Eltliam yesterday morning caused the borough inspector to telephone to the Hawera police, with the result that the vehicle was stopped here half an hour later.
The driver, Stanley Burton Robertson, was this morning 6entenced to 14 days' imprisonment on a charge of having been in charge of a motor vehicle while lie was drunk. He pleaded guilty. He was also fined fl on each of two charges of driving without a license, and driving a vehicle without the current number plates.
The- police records disclosed that Robertson was wanted 011 an information laid in September, 1926, alleging that he bad forged the name of Charles Harrex to a letter at Dunedin, and thereby obtained goods valued at £6 19/. He was remanded to appear in Dunedin next Saturday on this charge.
