Mr. J. A. Gilmonr, registrar <»f the Arbitration Court, is visiting Auckland

Mr. \V. G. Wat kins, solicitor, of Auckland, returned to-day from a holiday in Australia.

Dr. and Mrs. H. S. Kendrick, of Otago. returned from Australia to-day on -the Marama. Mr. and Mrs. William Elliot, of Mountain Road, leave for England by the Reiruera from Wellington on Saturday. Major-General J. Macfarlane Sloan, of Poona, India, and Mrs. Sloan, arrived on the Marama to-day. They are going to Taupo. Mr. E. Alison, jnr., came back from Australia on the Marama to-day, and was welcomed on arrival by the Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C. Mr. W. Grounds, chairman of the He is staying at the Commercial Hotel. Dairy Produce Board, left for Wellington by last night's express. Mr. J. A. Cahill, secretary of the Auckland Commercial Travellers' Club, and Mrs. Cahill, who have beeiy on a holiday visit to Australia, returned on the Marama to-day. Mr. J. O'Driscoll, formerly owner of Waiwera, and many other good race horses, returned on the Marama to-day from a holiday in Sydney and Brisbane.

Commercial Hotel guests include Mr. J. Webster, of Hamilton; Mr. T. Humphries, of Cambridge; Mr. T. K. Patterson, of Wailii; and Mr. and Mrs. F. Vincent, of Featherston.

The Kev. M. Pavlinovich, a Dalmatian Roman Catholic priest, arrived on the Marama this morning. He is to work ajnong his own people in the Auckland diocese.

Ensign V. Thompson, a Salvation Army missionary, who has spent six and a half years in India, arrived this morning on the Marama. He will spend part of hi* six months' furlough with his people at Mount Eden.

Mr. W. G. Goodman, chief engineer and administrator of tramways, Adelaide, who has been appointed as a member of the Auckland Transport Commission, arrived on the Marama to-day, accompanied by Miss J. A. Goodman.
