MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB.
The Maungakickie Golf Club's links at Titirangi were officially opened on Saturday. The conditions were good and there was a large attendance of members and friends.
The president, Mr. G. Lawrence Taylor, drove the first ball from the first tee at noon, and there was the time-honoured scramble for it by the caddies, and a reward for the lucky one.
Mixed foursomes were played, the best card returned being that of G. Cren and Mrs. R. M. Roberts, 2 down. The following players tied for second place withtn 3 dowu : A. A. Anderson and Mrs. B. Goldwater, G. C. St George and Mrs. J. E. Ramsay, G. L. Taylor and Miss B. M. GrierSon, S. Morpeth and Mrs. H. W. Cooke.
Play wes followed by a dinner is the clubhouse and a dance, which brought to a close a very happy and successful opening day.
