BIRKENHEAD-NORTHCOTE CLUB.
MEN'S A SINGLES.
The final of the a grade men's handicap singles of the Birkenhead and Northcote Club's Easter tournament between R. E. Taylor (Onehunga), owes 30 2-6, and C. G. Bowden (Remuera), owes 15 3-6, was commenced at Northcote courts on Saturday afternoon. After a very interesting contest, extending over three hours, the last set was uncompleted when the light failed. The first set ended in favour of Taylor, 6 —4, and the second was won by Bowden, who scored 6 against Taylor's 4. The scores were equal when plav ceased, and the competitors decided to resume the competition next Saturday.
