NEW HIPPODROME THEATRE.
Heading the first-class vaudeville and picture bill of fare which ha* bea arranged for presentation at the Xctt Hippodrome Theatre this evening, that an entertaining turn by Kansk, "who is billed as a '"sharpshooter and racquet juggler. ' He is direct from a success ful season in Australia, and his enter" tainment is expected to appeal to Auck« land theatre-goers. The six Whitij •dieters 'will appear in Irish natioml dances, and Harry Dudley will present numbers on the steel guitar and othff Hawaiian installments. There Trill be some interesting pieces by Alex. Wilson, di'amatic elocutionist, and one of the rao£t popular numbers of the evening should be the •welcome reappearance at the Ne» Hippodrome of tliat talented child pel* lormer Baby June, in song and dance. Other artists who will contribute to the programme are Jackie Robinson (boy soprano), Lynda Burgess (soabretje), » ic. Peterson (balladistl, Clarice Palmer (mezzo soprano), and Dorothy Craxforf (soprano). Accompanying this fine pr> gramme there will be two big pictures, the Heeney-Delaney fight film, and "The Broadway Gallant/' starring that popular athletic actor, Richard Taknadge. "THE FLORENTINE TRAGEDY." After returning from W hangar ei. trher# he is now producing the 'Arcadians." Mr. Theodore Tresize will commence rabeai*" "J« "The Florentine Tragedy" (Oscar VV ilde), which will be presented in Auck* land early in June, in the concert chamber being built in Lewis R. Eadys buiWinj. Two societies, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Society for the Protection of Women and Children, will benefit from the proceeds of this play, ofwhich there will be two performances. Besides the play, the programme will include dance, quartet, vocal and orchss* tral items by leading artists. Mr. Theodore Tresize. Mr. Rryer-Fajsher. Miss Ethel Rae, and Jlns. Coralie Stanley McKellar. ORGAN RECITAL. The city organist's principal solos at night's organ recital were Bscbf Prelude and Fugue in D minor, Widor* Adagio from '"Suite Latine."
