ANNUAL MEETING HELD.
PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES.
OFFICERS FOR THE SEASON.
The silvery Roope Rooster towered defiantly amid a wonderful array of trophies at the annual meeting of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, and enthusiasm was the keynote of a very largely attended meeting. Mr. George Rhodes presided, and in presenting the annual report- (previously published), referred to the wonderful prosperity of the code in Auckland.) The following trophies were presented: Senior A grade, Newton (Monteith Shield); senior B grade, Ellerslie (Norton Cup); second grade, Devonport (Wright Cup); third grade, New Lynn (Walker Shield); fourth grade, Richmond (Hospital Cup); fifth grade, Akarana (Endean Shield); sixth A grade, Akarana (banner); sixth B grade, Richmond (Myers Cup); senior A grade knockout, Richmond (Roope Rooster); senior B grade knock-out, Ellerslie (Stallard Cup); second grade knock-out, Devonport (Foster Shield); sixth A grade knock-out, Devonport (Hamill Cup); schoolboy competition, Otahuhu (flag); champion of champions, Newton (Stormont Shield); Davis Points Shield, Richmond; Thistle Cup, Newton; special trophy for best forward, W. Clark (Newton). The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. G. Baildon; vice-patron, Mr. H. R. Mackenzie; president, Mr. J. Carlaw; vice-presidents, same as last year. Meeting of Executive. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland' Rugby League followed, and the following officials were elected:—Chairman, Mr. George Rhodes; vice-chairman, Mr. E. J. Phelan; secretary, Mr. L Culpan; treasurer, Mr. F. Ellis; delegates to New Zealand Rugby League, Mr. E. Stallworthy and Dr. Gwvnne; hon solicitor, Mr. H. M. Rogerson; ground superintendent, Mr. G. Rhodes; timekeepers, Messrs. W. J. Gibbons, A. Coulam, P. McCullough; Advisory and Judicial Committee, Messrs. W. Cloke, McConnell, G. Carr, Porbert.; management committee, Messrs. B. Longbottom (Ponsonby), W. J. Davidson (City), J. J. Sullivan (Newton), A. Brown (Athletic), J. W. Robinson (Ellerslie), H. Solomon (Point Chevalier), T. Gregory (Marist), M. Reid (Northcote), J. A. Redwood (Richmond), E. Fox (Devonport), P. Barry (Parnell), H. E. Grubb (Mangere), J. Clark (Otahuhu), M. Huxford (Kingsland), W. Mincliam (referees' association), C. Adamson (junior management committee). Finance Committee, Messrs. W. Mincham, E. Brown. Clark; Grounds Committee, Messrs. W. Mincham, E. Fox, W. J. Davidson; insurance, Messrs. B. Longbottom, H. Solomon, C. Adamson, J. J. Sullivan; advertising, Messrs. P. Barry, W. J. Davidson, H. Solomon, B. Longbottom; entertaining, Messrs. W. J. Robinson, T. Gregory, H. Reid, A. Huxford, J. Redwood. A proposal to limit privileges to vicepresidents was defeated. It was announced that Ellerslie would compete in the A grade championship, and it was decided senior nominations should close on April 18. It was resolved to challenge South Auckland for the Northern Union Cup, the match to be played at the end of the first round of the senior matches.
