The invitation extended to Grafton Club to play a match, against the Manukau representatives at Drnry 10-morrow has been accepted. The following team has been selected to represent Grafton: Noakes. A profit of £340 10/S was disclosed in the revenue account of the Hamilton Rugby Union for the season just closed, according to the very satisfactory report submtted by the committee at the annual meeting of the union last evening. In the report the committee recorded the continued popularity of Rugby football in Hamilton and a decided improvement in the game was shown last treason. The number of players increased to 1250 last year owing to the inclusion of a number of new clubs in the Xgaruawahia, Huntly and Orini districts. An amicable settlement of longstanding differences with the Waikato Union had been reached. During the season £273 had been spent on improvements at Rugby Park. It bad been decided to erect a new grandstand with accommodation for 400 people and the work would be put in hand before next season. The committee reported that Hamilton bad won two out of three senior games and that its representative team had won the six Peace Cup matches in which it had competed. Claims totalling £172 10/, in which IS accidents were involved, were met by the players' insurance scheme. The committee had had to pay £4S 14/ into the fond to make it financial. The balance-sheet disclosed that the union has assets valued at £1330 12/11. The revenue account showed that receipts for the year totalled £1068 10/ and that its expenses were £727 19/4. The election of officers resulted as follows : —Patrons, Messrs. C. R. B. Speight and T. Clark in; president, Mr. C. Christie; vice-presidents, Messrs. T. B. Bootu and C. J. The annual meeting of the Northern Wairoa Rugby Union was held last night. Dr. Greville being chairman. The balancesheet showed gate receipts for last season £520, eclipsing all previous records. A further £150 worth of debentures, which were to cover the cost of ground, etc., at Dargaville, were redeemed during the year, reducing the liability to £1000. Profit on the year was about £jO, but depreciation reduced this to a net loss of £3 4/2. The meeting instructed the management committee to secure a return mutch with the Auckland Rugby Union at an early d:ile. I also to secure a match with some Auckland club early in the season. It was reported that the match with University last vear I resulted, owing to adverse weather, in a loss.
