Aerial Expedition In New Guinea. HARDIER CANE WANTED. (Received 9.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 2. Three leading sugar experts have planned an airplane expedition in New Guinea under the auspices of ■ the Department of Agriculture. They are seeking sugar cane hardier than the present American varieties. Dr. E. Brandes, a member of the department of the sugar plant section, will fly to San Francisco shortly in a monoplane, where he will meet Dr. Jakob Jeswiet, director of sugar experiments at Java for the Dutch Government. They will be joined at Hawaii by the entomologist, Mr. C„ Pemberton. The 'plane will be shipped to Sydney from San Francisco.
