ON A SLOW WICKET. bowlegs in command. AS INTERESTING FIGHT. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.') DI'NEDIN, Monday. The second Test match between Australia and New Zealand agnin reached an interesting stfltro. On a wicket which was on the slow side, but otherwise not difficult, the Australian side was dismissed for I*B, Oxenham and Grimjnett being responsible for the score being taken pa„t New Zealand's total of 162. Then the homo team fared badly a second time, losing five wickets f or 97 runs. Blackie put up his best performance to date in the major games, getting throe wickets for 24 runs. Foley was the only Now Zealander to make a showing in the second innings to date, and he hit up 42 runs in bright style. A Fight For Runs. The Australians in their first innings had seven wickets down for 93 runs, and then Oxenham and Jrimmett settled down to fight for ruus, absolutely declining to take any chance. Despite changes of bowling this pair stayed together for an hour and a half in malting 70 runs, and just when New Zealand's score was reached Blunt bowled Grimmett. Blackie was bowled by Blunt when he had made a single, and then Oxenham opened out and he and JleNamee put on 2.5 runs before McGirr got the last man leg before. They had taken 197 minutes for the 183 runs. New Zealand's Turn. Mill* and Dempster opened New Zealand's second innings to McXamee and Oxenham. Blackie replaced Oxenham at 42, and fifty waa hoisted after an hour's play. Milla was then dismissed l!bw to the new howler. 60—2—14. Blunt poked at a hall off his wicket in the same over and was caught behind the wickets. 60—3 —0. Blackie had now taken two wickets for three runs. Driving atrongly Foley carried hip . score to 30, and he reached 40 just before the tea adjournment when the board read 75 for three wickets (Foley 42, Hamilton 3). Grimmett and Blackie resumed the attack, and the latter got Foley's wicket in his first over, Wood full taking an excellent left-handed catch in the slips. 73—4—42. Lowry started in good style, but soon lost Hamilton, who waa caught in the deep field off Grimmett. 85—6—4. An appeal at 5.15 against the light was disallowed.
