FAMILY'S NARROW ESCAPE.
HUMMED EXIT IROM BURNING BUILDING. TRAPPED IN UPSTAIRS ROOM.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Leach and their daughter, of 564, Manukau Road, I'arnell, escaped in a sensational manner from a burning building at an early hour thin morning. Tho family occupied the upstairs portion of the building, a cake shop being on the ground floor. , They awoke to find the bedrooms full of smoke and the w ay. to the ground floor cut. off. Mr. Leach assisted his wife and daughter .to reacn the verandah. From there Dedding was thrown on to the ground, and they safely essayed the jump. p,™ l ™wk by the Remuera Fire j. f®s®..
