EGMONT ALPINE CLUB.
SKI ING AND TOBOGGANING. (By Telegraph.—Pkm Association.) HAWERA, this day. The Alpine Club, recently formed here to promote climbing, ski-ing and tramping in Egmont National Park, is being given remarkably good support. Nearly 200 members have enrolled in the two weeks since the club was established.
The inaugural outdoor gathering was held yesterday, when 100 members met on F&ntham's Peak to consider the erection of a club hut and the formation of ski-ing and tobogganing runs. Thirtyeight members, including jJO ladies, completed the ascent of Mount Egmont. Counting members of other parties, 60 climbers reached the top of the mountain yesterday.
