SILICA DEPOSITS.
PRIVATE COMPANY'S LEASE. SIGNED BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. Following on the decision of the Warden's Court in reference to various applications for the lease of the valuable silica deposits in Mount Somers district, the Minister of Mines has signed a lease in favour of the Southern Cross Glass Co. of New Zealand, which has erected a factory in Ashburton.
