ANZAC DAY.
EOCATIOH OF SERVICE DEPUTATION TO MAYOR. A deputation from the Southern Cross League waited upon the Mayor this morning and asked that the accommodation for mothers of soldiers at the Anzac Day service should be the same as in previous years. The deputation was "headed by Mrs. E: Nichol. A protest was made against a suggestion by the Returned Soldiers' Association that the service this year should be held on the Auckland Domain Cricket Ground. It was said that some mothers would find it difficult to attend. It was considered that a service there would lose some of its impressive nature. The Mayor, in reply, said that the Anzac Committee would meet to-mor-row, and a decision as to where the service would be held would then be made.
