FASCISM AND THE POPE.
CLIMAX TO FRICTION. (Received 1.30 p.m.) ROME, April 1. The friction between Fascism and the Vatican, which culminated in the decree entailing the disbandment of the Catholic youths organisations comes as a surprise, as it was recently thought that Mussolini, owing to the interests and friendliness of the Vatican, would even go to lengths of partial recognition of the Pope's temporal claims. The next move rests with the Vatican.
