WAIKATO DRAINAGE.
IMPORTANT THINGS EXPECTED. (By Xelejrraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Saturday. An important conference of Drainage Board delegates took place yesterday. This, it ia believed, indicates the possibility within a abort time of some measure of eo-qrdination being taken which will bring widespread results to the fliptriet, The local authorities repre* sented were the Waikato County Council and the Hillside, Eureka and Wood* lands Drainage Boards. It will be recol-> lfcted that three years ago a comprehensive report was prepared by the Government officers, who indicated that the general trend of the clay level on the Woodlands swamp was northward. The delegates yesterday inspected that portion of the county lying along the railway line between Rua''" a, and Eureka stations, and it is anticipated that definite proposals of a beneficial nature will result,
