RACING OFFICIAL. FAREWELLED. A very pleasant function recently took place when a prominent racing official was farewelled prior to leaving the country. In the course of the evening when the air was blue with smoke, he rose to make-reply: "Gentlemen," he said, "I see around me to-night many happy faces. I hope it's not because I'm going away." No! the majority were smoking Bears' tobacco, the favourite Virginian blend. Try it, too, it's a delicious smoke! 8d an ounce loose; and in handy packets, loss 9d, 2oz 1/6. —(Ad.)
