SEASONAL PREPARATIONS.

ADVICE TO FARMERS. At this time of year one of the chief cares of conscientious farmers who run sheep, whether on a small or large scale, will be the treatment of their flocks for tlie eradication of internal parasites, worms and flukes. Great advances have been made since the days of home remedies, such as turpentine and milk, and the latest and most effective treatment is undoubtedly represented by the Vermicide to be obtained from the Ring Proprietary Company of Auckland. The preparation has been tested in most parte of the world during the last two years under direct veterinary supervision, and everywhere the results have been most remarkable. It is interesting to note that a closely allied treatment has been responsible for the recently reported success in the pure of the dreaded bookworm disease prevalent the tropics. The cost of treatment with the Ring Company's Vermicide works out at less than Jd a dose per sheep. With each tin is provided a dosing appliance which measures the exact dose and makes it extremely easy to administer.

Another form of the preparation is used for the elimination of bots and worms in horses. Its action on bots is little short of marvellous.

While preparir.g for the coming season, farmers would do well to rememoer to stock up with the well-known Blue Cross cow drenches.

The disease of abortion is unfortunately bound to make its presence evident in many herds during the next few months. This disease can be prevented by treating cows when they calve (or abort) with Abortoids. The treatment of contagious mammitis in cows during the past year by vaccinating with the Ring Company's vaccines has been attended with mo'st satisfactory results.

A branch has been opened at Hamilton with offices at 1, Waid Street. Mr. b. Frith is in charge. The head office is situated at 62, Albert Street, Auckland, where the personal attention and advice of Dr. w. C. Ring and his assistants is at the disposal of all interested farmers.
