Dr. H. L. Gould, assistant medical superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, left by the express last evening for Wellington.
Staying at the Grand Hotel are Mr. James Murray and Mr. and >Irs. N. Blood, of New York, Mr. and Mrs. James Hussey, of Wanganui, and Mr. W. D. Hunt, of Wellington. Sir James R. Roberts, of England, who has lteen touring the Dominion, arrived in Auckland from Taupo on Saturday. He is at the Grand Hotel.

Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., has been appointed chairman of the Railways Appeal Board. Mr. Frederick Lindsay, controller of the refreshments branch, has been appointed the Government's representative on the Board.

Mr. Gordon xiurt, who was an engineer in the British Arctic expedition in 1925, under Commander Worsley, leaves New Zealand on April 27 to join the Asiatic Petroleum Company's engineering staff at Singapore, says our Wellington correspondent.
