ST. JOHN AMBULANCE WOBK. During the past two days the transport department of the St. John Ambulance has had a busy time, the long-distance ambulance covering 160 miles in three trips. On Thursday afternoon an accident at the Huia Dam took them a journey of 46 miles. Yesterday morning the ambulance went to Patumahoe for a private case, a total distance of 70 miles, •nd at a-quarter to eleven last night it left on a private call to Riverhead, arriving back in Auckland about two o'clock this morning, after having travelled about 45 miles.

The amount of removal and transport work carried out by the St. John Ambulance Brigade in New Zealand last year is referred to by the chief commissioner in his report. In all 1051 cases were attended to, and of these 269 were in Wellington. In the other three centres the association undertakes this work, and during last year attended to 1133 cases in Auckland, 1093 in Christchurch, and 1062 in Dunedin, thus placing a total of 4339 cases to the credit of the Order for the P*#t year.
