ITALY'S THRONE.
ABDICATION TALK. Hint Of Conflict Between Kb*)? And Mussolini.;; i* TRIAL OF STRENGTH. ' •- (By Cable.—Prenf- Association. —Copyrlglti.) - IX)N!DOK,TIarch 30. Reports are being circulated on the Continent that King Victor Emmanuel of Italy is about to abdicate in favour of his son, Prince Humbert. . -
These reports appear to be based on the belief that Signor Giolitti's recent protest against the adoption of* -the new scheme for the election of the Chamber of Deputies was aiot made without the King's approval. Questions aßked are: Will King Victor refuse to assent to the new electoral law? Will he exercise the Royal prerogative and dissolve Parliament, or will he evade a trial of strength with the Prime Minister, Signor Mussolini, by abdicating!
