representative committee SEVERAL CHURCHES PARTICIPATE An organisation to be known as the IYA Church Service Committee, which wil make recommendations to the New Zealand Broadcasting Company, is to be up in Auckland. At a meeting yesterday afternoon the whole question was discussed, there being present representatives of the Church of England, Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregational ami Baptist Churches, tho Churcii of Christ, and Mr. C. S. Booth, of the administrative staff of the Broadcasting Company, Mr. S. J. Hayden station director IYA, •nd Mr. Culford Bell, announcer IYA.
'Expressing the appreciation of the directors of the Radio Broadcasting Company for the interest shown by the churches, wid for their valued co-opera-tion, Mr. A. R. Harris, general manager, wrote stating that he hoped the formation of a committee would result in still closer co-opcration. It w0..1d constitute a substantial contribution to the service <A the company.
It was decided that each denomination represented at the meeting should appoint one representative to the committee, which is to hold its first meeting on April 13.
