The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London house, dated March 28:—Tallow: We quote c.i.f. and e. values for the following descriptions—Fine mutton, 38/6 per cwt; good beef, 40/; mixed, 38/. The market is quiet. DAIRY PRODUCE. LONDON, March 29. The London butter market is quiet and rather easier. Danish is quoted at 192/, choicest salted New Zealand at 170/ to 172/; Australian at 162/ to 164/. Unsalteds are at about 2/ to 5/ premium. Cheese is slow. New Zealand, 98/ to 99/. Australian is temporarily cleared. Messrs. Allen and Findlay have received the undermentioned cable from their principals, Messrs. Armour and Co., dated London, March 30:— Butter.—Market slow. New Zealand, salted 168/ to 170/ per cwt, unsalted 170/ to 176/ per cwt. Australian, 160/ to 162/ per cwt. Danish, 184/ per cwt. Cheese.—Market slow. New Zealand, 98/ to 100/ per cwt. LONDON SHEEPSKIN SALES. LONDON, March 29. At the London sheepskin sales 2385 were offered, of which 1088 were New Zealand and 651 Australian. There was a good attendance, and keen competition between the home trade, the United States and the Continent. There were very few withdrawals. Australian were generally 5 per cent dearer than at the February sales. New Zealand halfbreds were frrom 5 to 7% per cent up, medium and low 10, and pelts 10. CHICAGO WHEAT VALUES. (Received 10 a.m.) CHICAGO, March 30. Wheat for delivery in March is quoted at Chicago at $1.42% per bushel. For May delivery the rate is $1.42%, for July $1.41%, and for September $1.39.
