"May I say nothing?" said Richard Jamea Martin (45), when he etood in the dock at the Police Court this morning on a charge of having assaulted his wife bv catching her by the throat and punching her on the face and body.

He was clad only in his pyjamas, and on being arrested refused to dress himself, preferring to go to the police station in his night attire.

Martin was remanded for one week for medical observation.
