PREPARING THE ROLLS.

FOR COMING ELECTION.

CHANGE IN ELECTOR Al<

BOUNDARIES.

DIRECTIONS FOR ENROLMENT,

The alterations in the electoral boundaries, effected last year, will be in operation for the general election, and officers of the Electoral Department are faced with a big task in the preparation of the new rolls. This work will be undertaken by the registrars for the various electorates towards the end of next month.

Electors who, owing to the introduction of new electorates in the Auckland district as the result of the decision of the Representation Commission of last year will be transferred to newlycreated electorates, are in a quandary to know exactly how the transfers will be effected. The position, however, is quite simple, for the procedure to be followed is that the registrars will notify them of the districts in which they have been placed as an outcome of the change of boundaries. This will eliminate the necessity of electors taking action to have themselves transferred. '

Under the new state of affairs, Auckland Suburbs electorate, which starts at the Whan Creek and runs right through to the Manukau Harbour, consists of an area that was formerly very largely in the Eden electorate. In accordance with the commission's findings, the new Eden electorate will take in part of Roskill and part of Grey Lynn. The now Roskill electorate will in turrt absorb territory from the Eden and the Manukau electorates.

There are changes also in the Aiick land East boundaries, which will now include a part of the Central electorate nder the new plan Parnell will rur n# W Tu .
