LAW STUDENTS' SOCIETY.
The annual meeting of the Auckland University Law Students' Society was neia at the University College last evening, the president, Professor R. M. Alsrie, presiding over a good attendance. the wide nature of the society's activities was shown by the annual report, which referred to the addresses delivered and papers read to the society, to the mock trials, and to the annual ball, which was again an outstanding social success. The election of officers resulted as fol-lows:—-President, Professor R. M. Algie, Lj.Li.ji.; vice-presidents, Messrs. Maxwell S. Walker, LL.B., and S. D. E. Weir, L.L.M.: hon. secretary, Mr. Edwin C. L.L.M.; hon. treasurer. Mr. R. G. tt T, - ' committee, Messrs. E. E. Bailev, LL 8.. H. J. Butler, L.L.M., and J. S. Williams. L.L.B.
The proposed activities for the followmg year were briefly outlined by the president. The usual series of weekly meetings will be held in the second term, and it is hoped to stage early in the year ® mock trial on a more ambitious scale than any previously undertaken by the society. Besides the annual ball, the society will hold several faculty dances in the College Hall.
