GROWTH LAST SEASON.
INTEREST EST MODERN PLAYS
The annual meeting of the Auckland Little Theatre Society was held last evening. the president, Mr. L. P. Leary, presiding.
The main item of interest was the financial statement for the 1927 season which showed a progressive improvement in the returns from the four productions held. The accumulated funds which a year ago had been negligible, were shown to have amounted to £202. Mr. Leary, in moving the adoption of the statement, said that it was evident that the people of Auckland appreciated the work of the great modern playwrights as presented by the society.
The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, the Hon. G. Fowlds; vicepresidents, Professor R. M. Algie. Dr. C. E. Mapuire, Professor C'. W. Egerton the Pev. H. K. Archdall. Messrs. A. m! Ferzuson. Henry Hayward an d J. W.' Shaw; secretary and treasurer, Mr. T. J. Spry. The retiring members of the committee, the Rev. R. G. Coats, and Messrs. F. L. Armitage, A. E. Mulgan, and Humphrey Clark, were re-elected. The committee elects one of its members as president.
