STORY OF LOST FORTUNE.
ACCUSED MAX'S ROMANTIC "LIFE HISTORY." Eleren new charges were preferred at Liverpool against Arthur Casson. or Carson, aged 59, In connection " with the formation of a company to convert Thuretaston Hall, a Chesshire mansion, into a convalescent home. Against the advice of his counsel, Casson made a long statement, in which he said that seven years ago he was a wealthy man, but was now a pauper. He had returned from America with an income of £10,000 a year. n Casson also said that he gave his entire fortune to guarantee a company that never came into existence and that £50,000 and his town house were seized by a bank.
Casson was sent for trial on two charges of making false statements to obtain passports, the other charges being adjourned.
