Ravages Of Disease In Bengal
States.
ALARMING CHILD DEATHS.

DELHI, March 22.
During 1026 in Bengal there were 50,100 deaths from cholera, an increase of 25,000, compared with the previous year. Despite inoculations smallpox deaths amounted to 25,500, an increase of 8000. Child deaths under one year amounted to 261,000, and deaths from fever were 822,000.
The population of the two Bengal States in 1921, the last census, was nearly 900,000.
