ROTARY AND BOY SCOUTS.
The president of the Wellington *otary Club (Mr. D. S. Smith) piade • strong appeal at Tuesday's luncheon behalf of th® Boy Scout movement, ■rging members to undorta... to raise • sum of about 1300 a year by securing ||Jw subscribers each at £1 per annum. The suggestion was agreed to by acclamation. Three years ago, stated the Ctsident, the club undertook to stand hind the Boy Scout movement in the •jtj snd put it on a financial basis, •embers had succeeded in that up to a point, but the movement was in need further funds, and the directors of Rotary Club had come to the contusion that the only way was to induce people to become annual subscribers « each. There were 2300 Boy Scouts « Wellington, and the number was »Hly increasing. Each troop bad il **Hous officers doing honorary work training boys in the principles laid WSj? Chief Scout, Sir Robert Powell, which contained every|ip>g that would make the boys become .'«IW citizens.
