WOOL SALES.
FINAL NAPIER SALE.
RECENT RATES MAINTAINED.
NAPIER, Wednesday.
The fifth and final wool sale of the season in Napier was held to-night when 4000 bales were submitted to a full bench of buyers.
Competition was keen throughout and prices showed an increase on those at the February sales. They were equivalent to the prices ruling at more recent sales in other c.ntres. In some cases extreme prices, reaching the highest mark of the season, were paid for fleece wool held over from previous sales. Bradford took the bulk of the offering. The catalogue did not comprise a very attractive display of wool, many of the lots being rough, back country clips.
SYDNEY MARKET FIRM. SYDNEY, March 21. The Sydney wool sales concluded to-day. The market dosed firm at the best rates of the series, with strong and well-distri-buted competition for all good Merinos and all descriptions of crossbreds. There was still some irregularity for skirty and unattractive fleece wools. Greasy Merino sold to 30% d.
The next sales will commence in June.
