Though the yarding of beef cattle at Westfield yesterday was somewhat larger than has been the case recently, late values were fully maintained. Both sheep and lambs also sold readily at previous quotations and the Fame remark applies to pigs, which are meeting a very good demand just now. Calves, on the other hand, were in over supply and values eased. The range of prices compared with those ruling the previous week was as follow: — Tills week. Last week. Fat lambß sold at full export values, but fat sheep were inclined to steady after the recent hardening. Fat cattle sold better. Store Sheep.—Although the lamb entry was large, it was insufficient for the demand. The proportion of halfbred ewes was much larger than recently. There was a strong demand for all sorts.
