OBITUARY.

Auckland is poorer for the loss of Mr. IJobert John Entriean, who died yesterday at his home in Epsom, after a long illness. Mr. Entriean, who was sixty years old, was formerly in business as : a land agent, but he retired three years ' ago on account of failing health. H« was born in North Ireland and came to Auckland in 1889. Mr. A. J. Entriean. and Mr. J. C. Entriean, his elder brothers, had arrived earlier, in 1880 and 18a5 respectively. The father of the three, the late Mr. Robert Entriean, two sisters, and a younger son, came later. For a long time Mr. R. J. Entriean was a director of the Auckland Co-operative Terminating Building Society, and he held that office until his death. He leaves two sons, Mr. A. R. Entriean of the State Forest Service, who is now in the United States, and Mr. John Entriean, of Auckland, and two daughters, the Misses Edith and Nellie Entriean.

MR. F. G. QUICK.

Information has been received of the ■Midden death at Victoria, 8.C., of a wellknown Aucklander, Mr. F. G. Quick. He was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, and later at Nelson College. Mr. Quick joined the staff of John Reid and Co., merchants of this city. Later he went to San Francisco, where he was associated with the late Mr. Ben Turner, solicitor, being for some years in the employ of that gentleman. Mr. Quick next took up a ranch at Victoria, 8.C.. in the Saanich district, and was farming with his brother, Mr. W. F. Quick. Tliey went in for breeding Jersey cattle, and won many prizes in the show ring of British Columbia. Mr. F. G. Quick was Mayor of Saanich for three years. Mrs. Quick survives her husband. A brother of deceased is Mr. F. J. Quick, of Takapuna.
