FOSTERING OF AVIATION
REQUESTS TO GOVERNMENT

WELLINGTON, Wednesday
Delegates from all parts of New Zealand attended the annual conference of the Navy League to-day. The following remits were passed: —
This conference recognises that tiiis is a time for reasonable economy, yet it urges upon the Government that the neglect of maritime interests would be fa tee economy, and that it is dangerous to neglect the provision of proper naval defcnce. including the proper protection of our trade routes.
This conference itrees that when "the New Zealand Royal Navy Ileserve,.class D. is formed in the four main centres, lads living in proximity to the centres." as they become eligible for territorial cadet training, shall be given the option of undergoing sea training.as sea cadet? if tliev so wish.
