FROZEN MEAT PRICES.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London house, dated February 3:—New Zealand frozen meat: Lamb. 10% d per Jb, fair demand. Mutton, light-weights, market stronger. Last quotations. January 28: Lamb, lOVid per lb. Mutton, heavy, market weaker.
The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business last week:— The market is weaker for heavy-weight wethers; light-weights remain steady. Ewee are in short supply, and prices are nominal. There is a little better demand for lamb. The beef, market is fairly well supplied and moderate business has been done. Wethers, light, 6d to '/£d per lb; heavv, 4Vid to 5%d : ewes, 4'/id to sVid; lambs, 2's, lOd to 10% d; B's. lOd to 10%'J; 4's, lOd to 10% d: seconds, 9%d to 9%d: ox hinds, 4%d to 494 d; fores, 3%d to 3%d; cow hinds, 4d to 4Vid; fores, 3Vid to 3Vzd.
