-Dr. Howard Thomas lias returned to Auckland after a fortnight's fishing at Xaupo and Tokaami. Mr. K. Humphries and Mr. T. W. W oodwaril. of Wellington, and Mr. W. Lamb, of Sydney, are at Hotel Cargen. Mr. Beaumont Smith, managing director for J. ('. Williamson Films (X.Z.), Ltd., arrived from Wellington this morning. He is at the Crand Hotel. Mr. M. MeKenzie, of Cambridge. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Storey, of To Awamutu, and Mr. K. Hansen, of Wanganui, are at the Coinjnereial Hotel. Mr. and .Mrs. J. He is staving at the Northern Club. Mr. A. J. Parker has been granted leave of absence from the directorates of the Taupiri Coal Company and also tlje Hikurangi Coal Company. Accompanied by his wife, and daughter, Mr. Parker leaves by the express this evening to join at Wellington the party of 30 New Zealand bowlers who are to visit England. The T!ev. Father Broughton who, for t!ie past live years has been in charge of the Baetihi-Ohakunc parochial district, has received notico of transfer to Carterton. Father Broughton has been an ardent worker in church affairs in tlie Ohakune district. aDil lias been very popular with the people. Tho Rev. Father Sweeny, of Taihapc, will succeed Father Broughton.
