FAIX BETWEEN TRUCKS.

ACCIDENT ON WESTERN WHARF.

A verdict of accidental death was returned by the cOroner, Mr. F. if. Hunt, S.M., this afternoon at th& iiiquest concerning the death of Alfred EvAns, a waterside worker, married, aged 57, who was injured on December 26 and died in the Auckland Hospital on January 22.

The evidence showed that deceased was working on the Wetsern wharf, agisting in unloading coal from the s.s. Kaimanawa. He was on the staging tipping the baskets of coal into the railMay trucks below when he fell betwefen two of the trucks. There was doubt as to hether deceased was hit by a basket of coal or whether he over-balance. He resided at No. 88, Union Street.
