POOR PEACHES.
The peaches that have come to hand in Wellington this season are very much lclovv par. By regular buyers at the i larkets they are described as "small and -••rubby," indicating that neither in size for quality are they up to the usual f andard for such fruit at this time of the • a;-. This is difficult to account for, as the ■ rather has been ideal for the swelling ;-:-'l ripening of the fruit. Sound peaches ■ bringing 10/ a case. Apricots from ' :.<go are also very poor in quality. They •i'e >mall and are badly affected with :own rot. Possibly they have been picked *-nall on account of the blight, but they »ve not nearly of the quality of fruit Otag<? kere from Central
