ROBBERIES AT TAIHAPE.
TWO OARAGES ENTERED.
BOARDER'S MONEY STOLEN,
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.)
TAIHAPE, Wednesday,
Three daring robberies were committed in Taihape last evening by some unknown person. Two garage offices, those of Barton and Company and Smith aD<l Walker, were entered and small sums in cash stolen, also a boarder, Mr. Frederick Cracke, at the Federal House whs relieved, of £8 from his clothing while sleeping. Barton and Company lost £8 in notes, while S*iith and Walker had £3 stolen. Both business premises were entered by the forcing of the window, and cash was taken from the till. No cheques were stolen. A watchman on the premises of Smith and Walker was awakened by the intruder. The thefts were committed between midnight and 6 a.m. The police supposition is that the robberies were committed by the same person, who had a car at his disposal, but there is little tangible evidence.
